  • NRDC Natural Resource Defense Council (NRDC): Osa Conservation (Jack Murray) - $24,500.00 - The funds are being granted for the harvesting of 10,000 seeds, planting of 8,000 new trees, and funds will be applied to the maintenance of our tree nursery and the cataloguing of plant and animal biodiversity on the land.   • Ocean Conservancy (Nancy Bellett) - $20,000.00 - The funds are being granted to support the 2012 inaugural spring meeting of the Trash Free Seas Alliance as well as its fall virtual meeting.
  • Galveston Island Tree Conservancy (John Bellett) - $20,000.00 - The funds are being granted to assist with the purchasing and planting of trees in Galveston’s public parks, which were hard hit by Hurricane Ike - leaving them without shady canopy for public use.
  • Earth Island Institute (Gloria Arrecchi) - $20,000.00 - The grant will be applied towards The Plastic Free Campuses project, identify hotspots of wildlife affected by plastic pollution, and work with neighboring communities to implement actions to reduce the problem.
  • Texas Conservation Alliance (John Bauer) - $25,000.00 - The funds are being granted to assist with work in increasing support for designating the Neches River as a National Wild and Scenic River.
  • Animal LUV (Mike Deppe) - $20,000.00 - The funds are being granted to assist in expanding AnimaLuv animal shelter building to that it can house/save more animals.
